Around 30 companies, ranging from big studios such as Walt Disney to small producers like Les Films du Nord, met up with over 300 young talents pre-selected from the 1,326 applications sent in to the Mifa before the event, not to mention all those who tried their luck on the spot at the last minute.


The TV network Nickelodeon was at Mifa to announce to Europeans that its SpongeBob short film contest, launched in 2012 in the US to find the successor to its leading character, is going global.

Illumination Mac Guff

Armed with their book or PC, 18 sometimes slightly intimidated students had 10 minutes to demonstrate their talent to the Illumination Mac Guff team. The studio behind Despicable Me intends to recruit a hundred CGI artists over the next two years.

Walt Disney Animation Studios

With their 15 animation departments, Walt Disney Animation Studios are continually on the lookout for recruits in every profession. They were in Annecy primarily to explain who they are and give potential candidates pointers on their books and career aspirations.
